Another incident occurred in the notorious military unit Yegnikner located in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).
As a result, 18-year-old Narek Avetisyan, who was drafted from Echmiadzin this spring, got his right eye removed in hospital.
"It must not be so! People must do something! I will find the one that did it and put his both eyes out!" Narek's father, Andranik, says with indignation.
Narek's uncle says the incident occurred on Dec. 14. "Narek had been on duty for 14 days. That morning he went to the canteen. We do not know what happened, but that officer hit Narek with a bunch of keys and damaged his eye. He says he does not know who hit him or why."
The newspaper called Senor Asratyan, Head of the Press Service, NKR Defense Army. After he heard the newspaper's questions on the incident, he disconnected the telephone.
Mary Sargsyan, Public Relations Executive, RA Ministry of Defense, informed the newspaper that the military police is preparing materials.
The newspaper found out that the soldier was injured by Corporal Armen Tovmasyan.
