On December 14, the human rights defender Karen Andreasyan met with the U.S. Ambassador John Heffern.

The Ombudsman welcomed the newly appointed Ambassador and wished him success in cooperation with state bodies and civil society.

A range of issues were discussed regarding the promotion and protection of human rights, domestic affairs, the upcoming presidential elections and the role of the HRD’s office in it.

The sides held out hope for further effective cooperation and joint programs in future, the office of the HRD reports.
