The state officials lose public trust when they begin appearing before the society with political party badges, Armenian opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party’s Parliamentary Faction leader Vahan Hovhannisyan stated to news reporters on Saturday. 

“We are going toward absolute party-authority coalescence. This had reached an absolute level in the Soviet Union. But In a small country like ours, this road could be much shorter,” the MP noted.

He also highlighted that such demeanor is absent in other countries.

“When the president appears with that badge, before the society he becomes the chairman of the given political party, and not the president of  everyone. The PM likewise is not the PM of everyone, but the PM of the given party. The official may exert efforts, perform his work conscientiously, but the people see him with the party’s identification, which, basically means the party’s advertisement,” Vahan Hovhannisyan stressed.
