Armenian Government awards cash prizes to successful athletes which achieved a considerable success at the 2011 world and European championships.

By the decision of Armenia’s PM Tigran Sargsyan, the country’s 106 athletes and their trainers, coaches, sports physicians, and athletic organizations, which achieved a considerable success at the 2011 world and European championships, were awarded monetary prizes.
The awarded athletes include European silver medalist weightlifter Arayik Mirzoyan; European women’s silver medalist weightlifter Hripsime Khurshudyan; world Greco-Roman wrestling champion Roman Amoyan; world Greco-Roman wrestling bronze medalist Arsen Julfalakyan; European Greco-Roman wrestling bronze medalist Yuri Patrikeyev; world youth Greco-Roman wrestling champions Narek Khachatryan and Rafik Manukyan; and European gymnastics bronze medalist Harutyun Merdinyan.
The recipients of the cash awards also include the members of Armenia’s national chess team, which won this year’s world team chess championship, namely, Levon Aronian, Sergei Movsisyan, Vladimir Hakobyan, Robert Hovhannisyan, and Gabriel Sargsyan; world Under-18 chess champion Samvel Ter-Sahakyan, and other athletes, Government Press Service informed.
