At his meeting with journalists, Felix Khachatryan, a member of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) expressed his concern that the formation of authorities on people's will is "endangered" in Armenia.
"I do not think this year has been active. One said, the other went on doing what he was doing. Elections are now of importance," he said.
Khachatryan noted that amendments to Armenia's laws afford ample opportunities for corruption and election rigging.
Snap elections are needed to assess the incumbent authorities' 10-year-long activities rather than to form Armenia's authorities "one day earlier," Khachatryan said.
The passing year has been of importance for the ANC – the people got to know the opposition better.
Representative of the ANC noted that though they are demanded to make decisive steps but they do not have the resources for doing it. "We are heading to civilized elections and in case of violations we will fight with relevant means. Many people connect their hopes with ANC," Khachatryan said.
In his turn, Hamlet Harutyunyan, a member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), said that the ANC's positions have weakened this year and it has no popular support.
