Ankara worried about creation of NKR friendship group in Lithuanian Seimas

Ankara is worried about the creation of friendship group with the Nagorno Karabakh Republic in the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania. The relations between Turkey and Lithuania became intense after the creation of the friendship group before the visit of the President of Turkey Abdullah Gül, "Hürriyet" reported.

The visit of the President of Turkey Abdullah Gül is scheduled to be held on April 3. Before the visit official Ankara demanded explanations from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.

A group of the Lithuanian Seimas MPs adopted a declaration on the creation of friendship group with Artsakh on February 26. The adoption of the declaration is a significant step for the international recognition of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic. In particular it is stated in the declaration that in the struggle for the independence the Artsakh and Lithuanian people were guided by the norms of international law.
