Brazilian city Campinas recognized Armenian Genocide.

Mayor office of Brazilian city Campinas at San Paulo state informed Armenian Embassy in Brazilofficially that on December 16 Campinas Mayor D. Vilagra signed decision accepted on November 20 by the city parliament and so Campinas city recognized Armenian Genocide. Press service of Armenian President informs about this.
After the decision was published on December 19 at “Diario official” newspaper the decision has strength of law and April 24 will be included in special dates of the city. Every year it will be marked as “Memorial day of the victims of Armenian Genocide on 1915”.
Campinas has 1.2 million population and is one of the biggest centers of producing, agriculture and science of San Paulo. There is also a smaal Armenian Community in the city.
Armenian Genocide issue is one of the most discussed themes for the last time. Remind that tomorrow, on December 22 French National Assembly will discuss the draft on criminalization Armenian Genocide denial. In case the law is confirmed everyone who denies Armenian Genocide in France will be fined with 45.000 Euros and will be sentenced with a year.
