Armenia`s Aragatsotn province governor’s brother owning a developer company has failed to complete the reconstruction of a rural school in Aragatsotn region and disrupted the educational process, an MP has claimed.
In the letter to Armenia’s prime minister and his deputy, Anahit Bakhshyan of the opposition party Heritage said that on December 12 the governor told her that the reconstruction of Secondary School #2 in Aragatsavan village was completed.
She also said that she visited the school only to find out whether the reconstruction had been completed or not. Neither in the first nor in the second building, though initially it was planed on August 30.
Anahit Bakhshyan claims that the children are having classes in what she called “impermissible insanitary conditions, in reconstruction waste and frost”.
“During the visits at least two violations were observed: firstly, the governor’s brother who is the developer of the school under reconstruction has infringed the deadlines of the reconstruction and is not concerned about it,” said Bakhshyan.
“Secondly, the educational process at this school has been disrupted for which the director bears personal responsibility,” she added.
