Humanitarian response center is to be built in Armenia

Armenia’s National Security Council Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan and Emergency Situation Minister Armen Yeritsyan visited today Balahovit village of Armenia’s province of Kotayk where Armenian-Russian humanitarian response center is to be built by the end of the year.
According to NSC press service, the visit was aimed at getting familiarized with the territory, discuss the opportunities of establishing the center there. Arthur Baghdasaryan rated high the creation of the center which he said will be of regional significance.
“All the necessary documents have been worked out, the necessary document has been signed by Armenian and Russian ministries,” he said, stressing that the main goal of the center will be the development of opportunities and mechanisms for prevention of emergency situations, elimination of their consequences.
“We believe that the creation of this center will make Armenia a country that will export real aid,” he said. Baghdasaryan said soon the Emergency Situations will be provided Stepanavan airport which will have airplanes that will give an opportunity to operatively respond during disasters. Emergency Situation Minister Armen Yeritsyan said the center will be unique in the region and will be equipped with up-to-date devices.
