Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian issued a statement on Thursday regarding the bill banning denial of the Armenian Genocide adopted by French parliament.
By passing the bill, France confirmed its high rank of the cradle of human rights and once again proved its commitment to universal values, he said.
“In this regard, I want to express my gratitude to the leadership of France, the National Assembly and the entire French nation,” he said.
Minister Nalbandian stressed that by recognizing the Armenian Genocide ten years ago, French people demonstrated that human rights are the highest value.
“Today, by adopting this bill, France confirmed that crimes against humanity do not have time limitation, and their denial is to be condemned unequivocally,” he added.
