Turkey recalled its Ambassador from Paris after French parliament approved the bill that makes it a crime in France to deny the Armenian Genocide.
Tahsin Burcuoglu was recalled to Ankara, Today’s Zaman reports.
The bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial was adopted by a majority of votes hours ago.
MPs from the Union for a Popular Movement (UPM), New Centre, Socialist Party and Communist Party voted for the bill.
UPM members Jacques Myard, Lionel Tardy, Michel Diefenbacher, Jean-Philippe Maurer and Jean Bardet voted against.
