Russia is the only country which can change its position in the course of the settlement of  Karabakh conflict, political analyst Richard Giragosian told jounrlists on Friday.

According to him, positions of Armenia and Azerbaijan are clear.

“Azerbaijan wants everything or nothing. Positions of France and U.S. are predictable. Meanwhile, Russia has been recently improving its relations with Azerbaijan,” said Giragosian, head of Armenia-based Regional Studies Center.

The expert considers that Russia’s positions in Armenia are very strong and Yerevan has a few levers of influence on Moscow.

 “Russia has launched a number of military deals with Azerbaijan. Armenia is underestimating its value for Russia and at the same time overestimating Russia’s role,” he concluded.
