Georgia to pay off $200-million external debt in 2013

Georgia will pay $ 200 million to pay off its external debt this year, Georgian Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri told the media today.
He said that Georgia will start paying the debts in May 2013.
"The state budget has a relevant resource and we decided to transfer it to debt payment," he said.
Khaduri said that the state will pay debts on Eurobonds amounting to $40 million and will also pay off debt to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
According to the Georgian National Bank, as of January 1, 2013, the country's total debt amounted to $13.4 billion.
