“The Other Frunzik” film presentation took place at "Moscow" cinema.

How was Mher Mkrtchyan off scene? In the result of studying archive materials, recordings and interviews the film “The Other Frunzik” was shot.

The authors say Frunzik, whom they uncovered, is unknown to everyone. After changing it for 12 times, on Dec. 23 the final version of the film was shown at “Moscow” Cinema of Yerevan. It tells about the creative path Mher Mkrtchyan passed, about how the great actor personified the characters with utmost consideration and responsibility, making them his own, how he was preparing before coming out before the TV viewers and the spectators.

In the film, Frunzik also speaks of his dream to play Othello. “The Other Frunzik” was shot by the authors’ resources and by the help of the Ministry of Culture and the Armenian National Film Centre.

“This person is not the person who plays in the films. This person is quite a different one. We tried to keep away both from routine and his family situation and from his personality, in general. And we uncovered actor, philosopher and thinker Mher Mkrtchyan. We will show another Mher Mkrtchyan, who is unknown to us-unknown to you and me. After 6 months’ work he became known to me, and I was able to present him to you,”  the film’s co-author Hovhannes Papikyan said.

“He was saying, playing in a performance where people were expected to laugh, he had noticed one in the last row not laughing: “I played more funnily in the next shot, and that man had a good laugh. I was pleased that I managed to do it,” the film’s co-author Shushanik Sahakyan recalls the master’s words. He was able to make people laugh and cry skillfully.
