Armenia FM Edward Nalbandian received Monday Kuwait’s newly appointed Ambassador to Armenia, Bassam Muhammad Alqabandi, who presented the copy of his credentials to Nalbandian.
Armenia’s FM wished the Ambassador success in his mission, and noted that the founding of Kuwait’s embassy in Armenia will bring a new impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation.
Edward Nalbandian added that, following Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s visit paid to Kuwait in 2009, Armenian-Kuwaiti relations have raised to a new level.
In his turn, Ambassador Alqabandi stressed that Kuwait underscores the further strengthening and expanding of relations with Armenia, and its embassy’s opening in Armenian capital Yerevan is a proof of this. The Ambassador assured he will do his utmost to deepen bilateral cooperation.
The interlocutors also reflected on the arrangements that were reached during the Armenian-Kuwaiti Intergovernmental Commission’s inaugural session, which was held in Yerevan this October.
FM Nalbandian and Ambassador Alqabandi also pointed to Armenian Development Agency delegation’s recent visit to Kuwait, and the memorandum of understanding it had signed with the Kuwaiti investment company.
Cultural exchange was also on the agenda of the two officials.
Armenia’s FM and Kuwait’s ambassador also discussed the latest developments in the Middle East.
