Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Arthur Petrosyan sums up the 2011 year.

10 tickets to Olympic games and 135 medals are satisfactory results for the 2011 year, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Arthur Petrosyan told during December 27 news conference. "Though last year we had 157 medals, in any case the spent sums justified themselves," the minister said.
"Budget funds allocated to sport will total AMD 4 billion next year," he told journalists.
Petrosyan said that the best project of the year was “The Best Sport Family” which brought together 1122 families as compared to 347 last year.
The Minster named Grandmaster Levon Aronian the best sportsman.
Speaking about football, Artur Petrosyan said he likes to watch matches of the national squad on TV.
In response to the question whether the winners of best athletic family of Armenia can participate in such like international competitions, the minister said the Ministry is working in that direction.
Petrosyan described the pre-Olympic year as hard and effective saying that the Ministry managed to solve the issues it has put in front of it this year.
