On the occasion of 20th anniversary of Armenia's independence Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan awarded a number of cultural figures.

On the occasion of 20th anniversary of Armenia's independence Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan awarded a number of cultural figures with state awards and prizes. Congratulating all the present, the Minister rated high their contribution to the independence of the RA.

"I am proud I had an opportunity to work with you," the minister said, wishing all peace and success in the coming year. For the service to the homeland director of Sundukyan National Academic Theatre Stepan Davtyan, RA NAS academician Sergey Sarinyan have been awarded second degree order. Writer, translator Arevshat Avagyan, art director of Speghani chamber orchestra Sarina Avtandilyan, writer, dramaturge Gurgen Khanjyan, and others have been awarded Movses Khorenatsi orders.

Well-known ethnographer Levon Abrahamyan was granted title of honorary artist. Ministry of Culture gold medals have also been handed.
