Armenian parliament`s vice-speaker met with Australian MP.

Vice-Speaker of Armenian Parliament Eduard Sharmazanov held a meeting Dec. 28 with Mr. Walt Secord, a member of the Legislative Council, Parliament of New South Wales.

Ara Nranyan, a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D) parliamentary group, attended the meeting.

Vice-Speaker Sharmazanov thanked Mr. Walt Secord for his interest in the historical fact of the Armenian Genocide, Nagorno-Karabakh problem and Armenian people. He expressed hope that the meeting, which has been organized by the ARF-D parliamentary group, will be followed by further development of parliamentary ties.

As Vice-Chairman of the Group of Friendship with Armenia, Mr. Walt Secord is well informed of Armenia, committed to a fair settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He is the first Australian MP to visit Nagorno-Karabakh and meet with Nagorno-Karabakh President Bako Sahakyan.

Following his meeting in Armenia's parliament, Mr. Walt Secord intends to visit the institute Museum of the Armenian Genocide and the Memorial to Armenian Genocide victims.
