Poland and Iceland will not participate in the international song contest “Eurovision 2012” to be held in Baku.

European states with democratic traditions hesitate over the issue of participation in “Eurovision 2012” song contest to be held in Baku. Poland and Iceland, without any serious excuse, have already declared that they will not participate in the international song contest.
The number of the countries refusing participate in “Eurovision” in Baku will rapidly grow in near future, Armenpress reports, citing “Poligon” news website. The reason is that Azerbaijan is not a free country. And as the main slogan of “Eurovision” song contest is “Free Country, Free Music”, serious doubts have originated related to conduction of the contest in Azerbaijan, country with authoritarian system of government.
Trustworthy sources state that Belgium, Holland, Norway, Sweden, France, Dania and Luxemburg search for ways of refusing participation in the contest without creating a diplomatic crisis. Germany is suggested to refuse participation, too.
