Exhibition marks 500th anniversary of Armenian typography.

Armenian embassy in Athens held on December 28 an exhibition of special example of ancient Armenian books as part of celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the Armenian typography.
According to a press release by Armenia’s Foreign Minsitry, the artifacts exhibited were from the collection of Hakob Jelalian, a Greek-Armenian translator.
Armenia’s Ambassador to Greece Gagik Ghalechyan spoke about the history of the Armenian typography in his speech and all the events planned to be held worldwide within the 500th anniversary of the Armenian typography.
Ghalechyan handed the awards by Armenia’s Ministry of Diaspora and Ministry of Culture to representatives of the Greek-Armenian community.
Hakob Jelalian was awarded with a gold medal of the Ministry of Culture, and Gevorg Kolanian, representative of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation in Greece was awarded with the gold medal of the Ministry of Diaspora.
