Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan participated in candlelight holy liturgy in St. Sargis Church on Thursday, presidential press service informed.

Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates Christmas Eve on Thursday evening and continues on Friday.

All Armenian churches serve holy liturgy and light candles, Araratian Patriarchal Diocese official website informs.

People take the candles and the lights from the churches to their homes, which symbolize divine light and blessing of the church.
