Residents of Kajaran village are still waiting for the country's executive body to rescind its decision on alienating their lands.
On December 29, 2011, a number of NGOs, public and youth initiatives and environmentalists held protests outside the government building and presidential residence, urging the government to recognize its decision N 627 dated April 28, 2011 null and void, which assigns the land areas of five villages in Syunik Region to Zangezour Copper and Molybdenum Combine.
They handed letters to Serzh Sargsyan and Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan asking to satisfy their demand and not to soft-pedal the issue.
"We are still waiting for the government's decision," Headman of Kajaran village Rafik Atayan informed.
