Restoration and fortification works of Sanahin Monastic Complex to start.

For further preservation of Sanahin Monastic Complex the Culture Ministry of Armenia has carried out certain works, an official from the Armenian Ministry of Culture informed.

In collaboration of the Scientific Research Center of Historical and Cultural Heritage and High Technologies University of Berlin, studies of the technical state of the structures have been conducted. By invitation of the Culture Ministry, thorough formatting of all the monuments of the monastery complex has been implemented by Italian specialists.

Corresponding works will be carried out at the expense of the state budget: they are intended to bring to an end in May 2012. Partial restoration and fortification works will start in 2012 by allocations of the state budget.
