The pre-election activeness in Armenia inspires certain positive hopes, according to Alexander Iskandaryan, a political analyst.
At a news conference on Tuesday, the expert pointed out to several domestic political factors.
“Both the authorities and the opposition faced controversies separately, and we were able to follow those issues. The second process concerned the problems between the opposition and the [ruling] coalition as they were trying to reach a consensus,” he said.
Iskandaryan further noted that the active political year will until the parliamentary elections scheduled for May. As for the rallies of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC), he said they are unlikely to gather together as many people as they did before.
“There will be rallies, of course. But people’s attendance depends first of all on the way they work, and also the country’s financial and economic situation,” he said.
