ANC should unite the indifferent electorate - Armenian Politologist Alexander Iskandaryan.

Politologist Alexander Iskandaryan believes the Armenian National Congress should choose the right moment to raise the wave of protest to its peak on the threshold of the elections.
"The ANC's current objective is not to lead the electorate that is already radical, but to lead the electorate that is indifferent," the politologist said during a press conference today.
As to what extent the ANC will be able to meet this objective, Alexander Iskandaryan says it highly depends on the country's social-economic state and the ANC's ability to use the political resource.
Summing up the year 2011, the politologist also touched upon the ANC-coalition dialogue and called it organized negotiations for specifying the rules of the game before the elections.
"That was simply an attempt to move a street confrontation to another level where political forces try to collaborate on certain issues, whether it is good or bad," the politologist said.
According to Iskandaryan, in the second half of 2011, the authorities were trying to repeat what took place in the first years of Putin's term in office in Russia.
"The government was trying to deprive the oligarchs of the opportunity to take political decisions. That was not by chance. It was the ruling political party's plan to make sure that no businessmen are represented in the next parliament as much as possible," Alexander Iskandaryan said.
Iskandaryan finds that the discrepancies within the government and the opposition became more noticeable last year and that conclusions should be drawn based on that.
