Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Armenia Ayimdos Bozzhagitov has called for boosting cooperation with his country.
At a news conference on Monday, the diplomat expressed concerns that the Armenia and Kazakhstan do not almost collaborate due to existing subjective factors.
“There’s no direct transport communication, and contacts are mostly channeled through third countries,” he said, adding that Kazakhstyan exports mainly metals and vodkas from Armenia and imports brandy.
Bozzhagitov further addressed the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, dwelling on his country’s official stance on the issue.
“Kazakhstan has a neutral position on the issue and will remain committed to that principle. For us, however, it is important to maintain stability in the region. The same goes for Iran. Regional peace is in our interests,” he said, stressing the importance of Eurases program.
“The world is globalizing rapidly today. Our economies, as [former] Soviet States, are adapted to each another. We need to unite to stand competition,” he added.
