Al Jazeera English channel to release movie on Armenian Genocide.

Al Jazeera English channel will release "My Grandma’s Tattoos" movie by Syuzan Khartalyan, which tells about forcibly tattooing Armenian girls and women during the Armenian Genocide in Turkey on First World War.
According to the director, the movie tells about tattoos and fate of women having them. First Khartalyan wanted to make a movie on Ruanda Genocide. However, on studying the theme she encountered facts in the French archives, which reminded her grandma’s tattoos, being a genocide victim. The author was always interested in knowing the meaning of the tattoos and she revealed it in the movie.
