Turkmenistan and Armenia discuss interstate cooperation

During a telephone conversation between the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, the sides exchanged views on issues of international cooperation and a number of topical international issues, the Turkmen government said on Thursday. The conversation was initiated by Yerevan.
The two presidents discussed the progress in implementing agreements reached earlier confirming the "interest of the parties in the revitalisation of established productive dialogue on a bilateral and multilateral basis and further diversification of multifaceted cooperation."
The two sides also expressed their confidence in the successful continuation of equal partnership built on a long term and mutually beneficial basis.
The report said the Turkmen leader invited his Armenian counterpart to visit Turkmenistan at any convenient time which was accepted. The date of the visit will be agreed through diplomatic channels.
The Turkmen president made an official visit to Armenia on November 29-30, 2012 when a number of intergovernmental agreements were signed in various areas.
Diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkmenistan were established on October 9, 1992.
Armenia purchases raw materials, plastics, hosiery in Turkmenistan and supplies equipment, vehicles, precious and semi-precious stones as well as food products to the Turkmen market.
