Fans of the cult 1980s computer game Street Fighter can rejoice now as people around the world take tons of photos Hadouken-ing, special attack, used in Street Fighter.
Following in the footsteps of planking, Vadering and Quidditching, fans have been posting pictures of themselves showing off their best fireball-throwing technique online.
Hadouken or hadoken is a Japanese neologism (literally "wave motion fist" or "surge fist"), which amounts to a particularly powerful strike in Street Fighter. It is also known as the signature move of the hugely popular franchise which made billions in revenue for Japenese developer Capcom.
Only a few characters of the game could devastate an opponent with this special move which was achieved by thrusting their hands forward and sending a ball of spirit energy.
The craze of recreating it in photos started in Japan, but now it spread all over the world.
