Georgia marks Day of Armed Forces

The Day of the Armed Forces is celebrated in Georgia on April 30.

Celebrations are planned in connection with the 22nd anniversary of the Georgian Armed Forces, the country's defense ministry told Trend on Tuesday.

Soldiers will be congratulated on their professional holiday at 09:00 in all military units. A minute of silence will be observed in the memory of all dead soldiers. Distinguished soldiers will also be awarded.

Demonstration exercises will be held at 11:00 on the firing ground in Vaziani. The event will be attended by the government representatives.

The Academic Theatre named after Shota Rustaveli will host the Grand Evening at 17:00. The event will be attended by representatives of the executive and legislative branches of the country, diplomats accredited to Georgia, as well as prominent public figures.
