A meeting of the National Assembly of Venezuela on Tuesday ended in a brawl between the ruling party and the opposition. Both sides accused each other of starting the incident, which took place behind closed doors.
The broadcast of the meeting was interrupted.
Later, appearing live on TV channel Globovison with blood on his face, deputy Julio Borges accused members of the United Socialist Party of instigating the attack.
The Government side blamed their rivals for starting the violence over a refusal to recognize President Nicolas Maduro's victory.
A measure had been passed denying opposition members the right to speak in the chamber until they recognized Maduro as president.
50-year-old Maduro, who succeeded socialist leader Hugo Chavez, defeated opposition candidate Henrique Capriles by 1.5% points.
