After the campaign, Teghut CJSC released a statement saying the environmentalists` illegal intrusion upset the routine of Teghut CJSC, causing substantial damage to the company.

About 300 people including environmentalists, students and representatives of different sectors, visited Teghut on Sunday, raising their voice in protest against exploitation of the Teghut mine.

Concerned about Teghut's destiny, Teghut Defense Group has announced that they will continue their struggle until the mining exploitation and deforesting are discontinued.

The environmentalists urge the executive body to sober up and stop the notorious Teghut copper mining project since "under a government program national wealth worth 20-32 bln dollars will be extorted from the entrails, leaving Armenia at best an income of 600mln dollars, ruined nature, 300-million-tons tailings dump, dust, mud and migration."

After the campaign, Teghut CJSC, specifically the Information and Public Relations Department of Vallex Group, released a statement saying the environmentalists entered the territory of the company without permission, thereby violating the legislation of the Republic of Armenia.

Their illegal intrusion upset the routine of Teghut CJSC, causing substantial damage to the company. Teghut's legal service is presently considering the possibility of a legal claim to recover the damage," reads the statement.

In the meanwhile, another protest action was organized in Teghut against the environmentalists.

"Employees of the mine were taken to the site where they erected a fence with poles and ribbons and stood with posters, trying to explain the environmentalists that it was their saviour Valery Mejlumyan, President of Vallex Group who did not let them starve and employed in his company," said Levon Barseghyan, Board Chairman of Asparez Journalist's Club.
