In the fifth round of the highest league tournament of 72nd Armenian Men’s Chess Championship Hrant Melkumyan beat Karen H. Grigoryan and now dominates the tournament. 

Melkumyan has scored 3.5 points and is half a point ahead of Artashes Minasian and Tigran L. Petrosian who share 2nd-3rd places. 

Maria Kursova dominates the highest league tournament of Armenian Women's 67th Championship. In the fifth round Kursova beat Naira Movsisian. Maria Kursova has scored 5 points and is one point ahead of Anna Hairapetian.
