Families of the victims of the tragic events of Mar. 1, 2008, in Yerevan now are having meeting with John Prescott, co-rapporteur of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for the monitoring of Armenia at the Marriott Hotel.
The meeting is passing without presence of media representatives. Some minutes ago the reporters were banned to perform their work urging that if the presence of media was appropriate, they would have announced beforehand.
To note, as LURER.com informed earlier, the relatives intended to stage a protest action outside the CoE Office in Yerevan, if the co-rapporteurs ignored the relatives anew. During their previous visit the co-rapporteurs did not meet the victims' relatives. Following their visit, they issued a report thereby considering the chapter of March 1 as closed.
The relatives are concerned about the issue of why till today the murders haven’t been solved. "We will express our dissatisfaction with their work, which is by nature an imitation. In addition, we will also say that due to their work, the last PACE statement on closing the page on Mar. 1 was made, for which we will also express our discontent,” during the talk with LURER.com correspondent said Alla Hovhannisyan, mother of Mar. 1 victim Tigran Khachatryan and president of the March 1 NGO.
