Armenian Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan hosted PACE co-rapporteur to Armenia.

Today RA Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan had a meeting with the delegation headed by PACE Monitoring Co-Rapporteur to Armenia John Prescott.
The head of the RA Special Investigation Service Andranik Mirzoyan and other officials participated in the meeting.
The Armenian Prosecutor General greeted the guests and highlighted the role of the Council of Europe in developing the informational policy of the General Prosecutor’s Office and improving the mechanisms of providing publicity over the works carried out by the RA General Prosecutor’s Office. John Prescott mentioned the importance of providing balanced information on the criminal procedures and gaining public confidence.
At the guest’s request, the Prosecutor General referred to the results of the preliminary investigation conducted over the criminal cases initiated on mass disorders committed on March 1-2, 2008 in Yerevan and presented the problems which the preliminary investigation body faced and the steps taken by the body.
Aghvan Hovsepyan informed that the preliminary investigation body released a report on the works carried out during the investigation which is available to everyone in the SIS website. He ensured that the preliminary investigation body would further inform the society about the results of the preliminary investigation of the mentioned criminal case.
