Chief of Armenian Police, Lieutenant-General Vladimir Gasparyan received PACE Monitoring Committee Co-Rapporteur for Armenia John Prescott.
Speaking about the process of European integration, Mr. Gasparyan said that reforms continued in the Armenian police.
According to the police chief, to achieve success it is necessary to change the behavior and mentality of employees and modernize the legislative sphere.
John Prescott expressed satisfaction with the obvious changes and emphasized the strengthening of public confidence in the police. Vladimir Gasparyan noted the new image of a police officer will change attitude towards the structure. Then he added that the ongoing personnel and structural reforms would reduce corruption risks and deepen cooperation between police divisions and communities.
"Everything will be done for our people to feel safer and protected," he said.
