RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov responds to the statement of Georgian Deputy Speaker.

“The Georgian official has made an absurd statement far from reality,” RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov said, in response to the statement made by the Deputy Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Fridon Todua in Baku the day before that “Georgia and Azerbaijan will return the occupied territories, as they are their lands.”

“To Todua’s knowledge I’ll inform him that no official of Armenia has ever made a non-correct statement in connection with the problems of the third country.

I would advise the Deputy Speaker to get acquainted with the historical tradition of his people, “Kartlis Tskhovreba,” where it distinctly notes who are the native nations of this region. Both Armenians and Georgians are mentioned in the work, whereas there is no word about the Azerbaijanis in “Kartlis Tskhovreba.”

Maybe, after knowing the truth from the textbook Todua will apologize to his neighbouring people,” Sharmazanov concluded.
