2 killed, 27 injured as suicide blast hits police station in Pakistan

At least two people were killed and 27 others injured when a suicide car bomb hit a police station in Pakistan's northwest Bannu district on Wednesday morning, reported local media.
According to local media reports, the attack took place at about 6:15 a.m. local time when an unknown militant rammed his explosive-laden car into the rear wall of a police station in Domel area of Bannu, a district bordering the militancy-plagued North Waziristan along the Pak-Afghan border.
The blast killed one policeman and a woman passerby and wounded 27 others including six cops, seven women and two kids.
Hospital sources said at least two of the injured were in critical condition.
Most of the blast victims were people living in the surrounding area of the police station.
The blast also caused serious damage to some 30 houses nearby the police station.
No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack yet.
Police have cordoned off the blast site and kicked off an investigation into the incident.
