Large scaled deforestation in Armenia’s Lori region.

For a long time deforestation has been taking place in Armenia’s Lori region`s Metsavan village.
Several environmental activists spread news about the deforestation on the social websites. The trees near the cemetery were cut. Rumours are circulating that the cutting was implemented by "HayAntar" SNCO. The trees were counted and numbered.
According to the sources, about 200-250 pine trees were cut. The villagers told that the cuttings have been going on for a year, the wood is sold to the villagers for AMD 8,000 per cubic meter. During the filming the wood choppers were there.
