The death toll in the April 24th collapse of the eight-storey garment factory complex in the Bangladeshi town of Savar has risen to 803 people, stated the police on Thursday, TASS reported.
Rescuers have no idea how many bodies they will find in the rubble, as the exact number of people who were in the structure at the time of the collapse is unknown.
A total of five textile mills in the building employed more than 3,100 people.
The building was found to be in substandard condition and was owned by one Mohammed Sohel Rana who was arrested on April 28th while trying to cross the border into India.
A Bangladesh court has already ruled to confiscate his property and if convicted of involuntary mass murder he could face the death penalty.
