Last year, death cases showed a sharp decrease in Armenia's army, Armenian Military Prosecutor Gevorg Kostanyan told journalists on Jan. 19.
He presented statistical data. Thirty-six deaths were registered in Armenia's army, with 30 of them being the result of crimes.
According to Kostanyan, a 33% decrease in deadly crimes was reported last year as compared with 2010. However, for Kostanyan, even one death is a cause of concern. Kostanyan said that cooperation between Armenia's Ministry of Defense and Military Prosecutor's Office accounts for the decrease in the number of crimes.
"It should also be noted that a 10% decrease in the number of crimes in Armenia's armed forces was registered last year as compared with the previous year," Kostanyan said.
He stated he is ready to resign if investigations reveal that actual murders were presented as suicides.
