There are no fundamental disagreements over passing to a 100-percent proportional election system - ARF lawmaker.

Armenia’s authorities and opposition forces have no fundamental disagreements over a switchover to the proportional representation system.
They can find common ground, Armen Rustamyan, a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D), stated at a conference organized by the ARF-D in cooperation with the Heritage party.
“The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) is stating they are moving forward to the proportional representation system. So why not do it on the threshold of the forthcoming elections. If the authorities want to retain their power, they have to be re-elected rather than re-produce themselves,” Rustamyan said.
“If you do not want to resolve the issue, you problem number one is reproducing yourselves. We are dealing with a situation when some do not want to lose initial advantages. It is not fair competition,” Rustamyan said. The authorities’ major problem is not at all a time limit – it cannot cause any procedural problems.
“We will only make the process easier and more tranparent,” he said.
