Defective Armenian parliament cannot take over responsibility and improve the extremely tense situation in the state, parliamentary opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) member Felix Khachatryan told the journalists on Friday adding the Elective Code also is malfunctioning in holding parliamentary elections.
“The Code is established only to provide continuation of the current ruling Republican Party (RPA). However, we have time to change it. MPs elected by the majoritarian system appear in the Parliament to defend only their business,” he said adding the responsibility falls on the party during proportional system and they choose attentively their candidates.
RPA MP Vardan Ayvazyan opposed saying that he was elected twice on proportional and twice on majoritarian system and he sees no difference. Besides, he would not let anybody insult him.
“I call whoever insults me cattle,” he added.
Moreover, he believes that being rich is perceived as guilt in Armenia. However, Khachatryan said that he is not against seeing many rich people, the essence, however, is to achieve it through fair means and not fraud.
