The court hearing, into the case of former Chief of the Police Force Criminal Investigation Department, Police Major General Hovhannes Tamamyan, is set for February 17, according to the decision of Yerevan’s Kentron and Nork-Marash General Jurisdiction Court Judge Arshak Vardanyan, photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan informed LURER.com.
As LURER.com informed earlier, the investigation with respect to Hovhannes Tamamyan is over, Special Investigation Service (SIS) informed. SIS added that Tamamyan finds himself to be innocent. Also, the period of his detention, which is already extended four times, expired on Tuesday.
Kentron and Nork-Marash Court of General Jurisdiction examined the petition of SIS investigator, on November 17, 2011, to extend Tamamyan’s detention term for another two months. The court session was held with Tamamyan being absent from the courtroom, as he had refused to attend it.
Tamamyan is under custody since March 24, 2011, and he is charged with abuse of power, which has caused serious consequences.
