Erdogan: "There will be no ‘Turkish Spring’."

There are outside forces interested in destabilising Turkey, but there will be no 'Turkish Spring' in the country, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday, TV channel TRT Haber broadcast, Trend reported.
Erdogan said the Republican People's Party (CHP) is behind the events in Taksim Square.
"The opposition forces which failed to come to power through democratic means, try to do it by destabilising the country," Erdogan said.
Earlier, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the core of the events is ideological in nature and the opposition intends to increase its influence in Istanbul.
Erdogan also criticised those countries that have called upon Turkey to treat the demonstrators more leniently.
Rallies are being held in various Turkish towns to support the protesters in the Gezi Park in Taksim Square in Istanbul. Protesters say they oppose the destruction of the park.
According to the Turkish media, tension remains in Gezi Park at Taksim Square.
The protesters opposing the destruction of the park, are building barricades in Istiklal Street and throwing stones at policemen. The police continue to use tear gas and water cannons to disperse the demonstrators.
According to the Turkish Interior Ministry, some 58 people were injured and over 730 people were detained.
The 6th Istanbul Administrative Court decided to suspend the construction of the Topcu Kıslası shopping centre on Taksim Square.
A group of protesters tried to seize the building of the Turkish ruling party in the province of Izmit on morning of June 1. Local police dispersed the demonstrators.
