Tigran Sargsyan meets Dmitri Medvedev

Armenia’s Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met with his Russian counterpart, Dmitry Medvedev, on Friday in Yalta, Ukraine.
Sargsyan noted that Armenia attaches a great importance to expanding ties with Russia. “We are satisfied by the dynamics of the relations, but we see a greater potential that we must use,” the PM said, Armenian Government press service informs.
In his turn, Dmitry Medvedev pointed to the growth in trade turnover between Armenia and Russia, and expressed a satisfaction by the bilateral trade and economic ties. “We are in constant dialogue, everything is good with us, and the results are not bad either. The key indicator is trade turnover, [and] it grows,” the Russian PM noted.
Sargsyan and Medvedev made arrangement that the Russian side may discuss its attendance to the donors’ conference with the European Union and the World Bank, and Sargsyan received the support from his Russian counterpart.
The interlocutors also discussed the project of building a new nuclear power plant in Armenia, and Russia is expected to take part in the funding of this project.
In addition, the Armenian and Russian premiers reflected on developing the diamond industry in the two countries. And since Armenia has already ratified the CIS Free Trade Agreement, the parties examined the relaxing of some relevant procedures.
Also, Tigran Sargsyan and Dmitry Medvedev made arrangement on forming a working group that will discuss the programs aimed at deepening Armenian-Russian economic cooperation.
