Armavia owner Mikhail Baghdasarov said he has no debts to Russia’s Sukhoi Civil Aicraft for Sukhoi SuperJet 100, Prime agency reported.
“The plane cost $20 million. We paid $16 million and then another $4, later we returned the aircraft. We have no debts for maintenance. They think we have to pay $1 million,” he told reporters.
Russian company said Armavia had not paid about $4 million for the first aircraft. They said that Armenian carrier can not return the plane, as it is under the encumbrance of one of Armenian banks.
In his turn, Baghdasarov claims the company was carrying costs due to frequent outages for technical reasons, and this is one of the reasons why Armavia had refused to buy the two aircrafts.
