White House admits sequester can cost 750,000 jobs
USA
The U.S. administration admits that looming budget cuts, set to kick in on March 1, could cost the national economy the loss of 750,000 jobs. This was disclosed Wednesday by White House spokesman Jay Carney.
According to him, there are no exact numbers yet, but the authorities agree with the general expert estimates.
Carney expressed confidence that "next week Congress would take steps to avoid sequester."
Carney reminded that House Speaker John Boehner, just as President Barack Obama, repeatedly voiced the need for targeted action to avoid automatic cuts in government spending.
