Seven Israeli jets violate Lebanese airspace

Seven Israeli warplanes breached Lebanon’s airspace Thursday, a statement from the Lebanese Army said.

“At 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, six warplanes violated Lebanese airspace flying over the [southern] village of Kfar Kila and conducted aerial maneuvers over other Lebanese areas,” the Army’s general directorate said Friday.

“The jets left at 12:45 p.m. flying over the village of Alma Shaab [south of Lebanon],” it added.

Later during the day, another breach was recorded when an Israeli reconnaissance plane flew over both south Lebanon and the west Bekaa.

“Around 8:10 p.m., an Israeli reconnaissance airplane violated Lebanese airspace and flew over the [southern] Lebanese town of Rmeish and conducted aerial maneuvers over the south and west Bekaa,” said the statement.

The plane left at 8:30 p.m. flying over Alma Shaab.

Lebanon has repeatedly lodged complaints at the U.N. against the Jewish state for its continuous violations of the country’s air and land borders in contravention of Security Council Resolution 1701.
