MP from "Armenian National Congress" parliamentary faction, former Prime Minister and former presidential candidate Hrant Bagratyan posted entry on his Facebook page, which says:

"In recent days there have been rumors about the price of gas imported from Russia. Power through the media is trying to convey to people the following messages:

1. The price of gas, however, will rise, but since our (Serzh Sargsyan) are very skilled and respected people, thanks to them the price will be much lower than it should have. There can be such talks as much as you can, because, of course, no one knows how much was to increase the price (no threshold comparison).

2. Some Russian officials announced in Yerevan that Armenia receives gas at the cheapest price in the region. It's a total lie, because Russia supplies gas to Georgians in the region and to us. However, if the Georgians pay for 1 cubic meter of gas 110,000 AMD, residents of Yerevan - 132 000 AMD.

3. Yerevan, supposedly receives gas at a lower price (180$) than on the world market. This statement also applies to the category of misinformation. The fact that 180$ (by the way, according to customs data, Armenia has long been paying more), refers to the wholesale price. This is the price at which the Russian company "Gazprom" sells gas to another Russian company "Armrusgazard." The latter raises the price by 150$ and resells the Armenians. Given the quality of the gas, and our standards (calorific gas below the European indices), the Armenian consumers, in fact, pay 420$ for gas.

Armenia does not buy gas from Russia. In this case, Russia sells gas to another Russian company. Thus, the wholesale price of gas to Armenia is negligible. Now gas price is rising, but for what? One Russian company ("Gazprom") will sell another Russian company ("Armrusgazard") gas at a higher price. Why should Armenian President intervene in this policy? If our will intervene, then, in fact, it will not be reduced, but rather, they would justify the constant improvement. And in Armenia, people say that if we do not do something, the price of gas will be higher. And who will analyze, in comparison to what the price will be higher? ".
